Tuesday the Budget and Business Services Committee will meet at 6PM in the Irving J. Breyer board room at 555 Franklin Street.  Here is the agenda.

  • Action Items
    • The Committee will make a recommendation on two resolutions related to school board policy on physical education in the schools.  The resolutions cover many issues related to education including the minimum number of required minutes of PE at different grade levels, and allowable PE exemptions including ROTC.  Here is a powerpoint from the Board meeting where the resolutions were introduced - but the proposed policy may have evolved since this time.
    • A recommendation will also be made on a resolution calling for "good food purchasing standards for SFUSD" - this means purchasing emphasizing local economies, environmental sustainability, valued workforce, animal welfare and nutrition
  • Informational Items
    • The Curriculum and Instruction department will present a departmental budget review.  This continues a series of departmental budget reviews that have been presented at budget committee meetings this year.  All have provided illuminating information about departmental priorities and budget break-downs.
    • An update will be presented on the district-wide budget development process and Local Control and Accountability Plan
